Gary+Abigail, Big Talbot Island, Jacksonville FL, Engagement Photography

There’s something so perfect about marrying your high school sweetheart. Instead of a long string of ex’s, there’s really just one person you’ve opened your heart up to. And that special person has been there for every heartache and every triumph of life. Looking back, years later, it will feel as if he’s been there…since day one.

Gary and Abigail met the very last day of sophomore year. Abigail sent Gary a message on MySpace (this was long before Facebook or Instagram!) and they started talking and even spent time doing community service together at the elementary school. A few months later, Gary asked Abigail to be his girlfriend and the rest is history! Fast forward eight years later and the two can’t wait to tie the knot in April 2016.

This was a special session for Jeff and I, because it was a very first portrait session in our new home of Jacksonville. Coming from Kansas City, we knew Florida could offer us with some totally different, and absolutely beautiful landscapes. And, Jacksonville did NOT disappoint! We battled the misquotes and climbed down the dune on Big Talbot Island and were so amazed by the incredibly old oak trees that have fallen on the shoreline. Truly, an amazing background with a wonderful couple!
