Bobby and Samantha met playing in a charity softball tournament in October 2014. Samantha was playing on her police department’s softball team, paired with another agency. One of the Sergeants from the other agency told her that she couldn’t play softball on his team because she was a girl. Samantha was livid! She talked to the officer organizing the event, who walked over to Bobby and his Navy team to ask if she could play on their team instead. Bobby took one look at her, realized she was cute and said she could definitely play on his team!
Bobby proposed on in November of last year. They were on a photoshoot with a cop friend of Samantha’s who was starting up his own photography business. The session was good, although it seemed a little rushed. They were staged for the last photo of the shoot, in the midst of a open space with a view of the water and the fort. Little did Samantha know the shoot would take on a whole new meaning when Bobby got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Of course she said “Yes”! And it turns out the photographer was in on it too. Bobby told him during an outfit change and Joe (the photographer) got so excited, that he rushed to get to the final spot where Bobby would propose. It was an amazing day.
